about

This general idea was sparked during the 2016 presidential primary debates. It was amazing how people attached themselves to a candidate, a person that might have well been the 2nd coming of Christ to them. The entire spectacle of it all was like a seedy disco or club where you're picking out who you'd like to take home and do all the nasty things. Seems fitting and related.

lyrics

Who are they
Why can't you see
All they tell you is what to believe

They'll give you this
They'll give you that
They'll knock your head off with a baseball bat

What a nice smile
All that charm
Who would think they would do any harm

Think the soapbox is full of hope
Please tell me where you buy your dope

Take your time at the disco
Take the time to bring your candy home
Take your time at the disco
There's no other place to go

Take your time at the disco
Take the time to bring your candy home
Take your time at the disco
Because I know you like to take it slow

They croon
They swoon
You'll leave the rally singing their tune

Save the rich
Take in the poor
Drink the sugar water, leave you wanting more

They preach big
But it's vile
You're left cold on the bathroom tile

Who to trust
Who to believe
Every single one will make you bleed

Take your time at the disco
Take the time to bring your candy home
Take your time at the disco
There's no other place to go

Take your time at the disco
Take the time to bring your candy home
Take your time at the disco
Because I know you like to take it slow
